Moving At the Speed of Change

If it’s true that the only thing that doesn’t change is change itself, then why do some people around us get through change easier than others? Why are so many of us so uncomfortable with change? And if it’s not universally hard, why is change so hard for some people, but others seem to navigate through it so quickly?  How do I learn to tighten my turn in change or stay grounded when it feels like everything around is changing?  Now more than ever, it’s critical for each of us to master the ability to anticipate and recognize change and keep ourselves up to speed and moving forward.

Moving Projects At the Speed of Change

Projects aren’t immune from change. Learn how to keep you stakeholders and your project moving forward no matter how fast change happens.

Moving Projects At the Speed of Change – Overview:

Change on projects is inevitable, so why are we surprised when things change? Why do project changes still create so much churn? Why does change create such a disruption in the project schedule and process? Hwy are there stakeholders who don’t know about changes or who aren’t consulted in time? Even if we try to protect the iron triangle of scope, time, and cost, why do changes seem so disrupting? Can’t we do this better?

In this session, change expert Sinikka Waugh will uncover specific, tactical, practical, and applicable tools that are designed to help Project Managers and the team anticipate, plan for, and manage project change more effectively. Thriving On Change – Overview:

This hands-on course takes a close look at effective change and transition strategies, starting with laying the foundation of change management: what is change, how do we perceive it, and what models exist to describe the change and transition process. From there, participants have a chance to reflect on their own perception of change and learn to identify how others perceive change. Models of effective change management are overlaid with models of effective transition management, using influences from change leaders such as Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, Kurt Lewin, and John P. Kotter. The second half is dedicated to understanding the key principles of effective change leadership, including planning, creating buy-in, and the key role that communication must play in change leadership.
