Session 2: Advanced Facilitation
February 14th, 2023

Some meetings – and some meeting participants – require extra care and finesse. Busy executives with limited time on their hands, distracted individuals whose minds are elsewhere, and people caught up in organizational politics that don’t align with the other meeting participants can make things really tough! Whether we’re trying to understand the technical details of a specific issue or we’re planning for the next several months or years for our organization, our meetings need to be productive and useful. The best compliment to a meeting facilitator is to be invited back, and that doesn’t happen unless the people in the meeting agree that the meeting was effective. Gain and practice proven techniques to protect the productivity of the meeting and keep things moving forward well, even in the face of apathy, distractedness, excessive chattiness, resistance, hostility, unreasonable dominance, and other unproductive behaviors. In this full-day workshop, we’ll weave stories of disruptive behavior into techniques of how to manage them with grace. Keeping in mind the essentials of any effective meeting and supplementing those critical foundations with advanced techniques to use when the meeting is at a standstill. This class will prepare you to facilitate even the highest-stakes meetings with any of highest profile participants.

Session 3: The Art and Science of Process Improvement
February 21st, 2023

This full-day class covers the foundations of effective problem solving, using our own proven methodology. We begin with making sure that you’re solving the right problem, using best practices in root cause identification along with effective facilitation and brainstorming techniques. From there, we move to identifying the best possible solution options, knowing that not every problem has just one solution, and not every solution option is the right choice for right now. You’ll be exposed to key components of successful decision-making and an approach that helps you bring others along. And finally, our session closes with how to create the right plan of action for you, beginning with taking that critical next step.

With practical, hands-on examples, in this highly interactive workshop you’ll learn how to identify the right problem, uncover the right solution, and put the right action plan into place. Gain easy-to-apply tips that help you collaboratively solve even the most complex problems, head-on, without getting overwhelmed by the problems you’re facing and without becoming distracted by the first solution that comes along.

Goals and expectations are critical to success, but sometimes, we set bad goals with good intentions. We’ve got tips and tricks to help you set (and achieve!) better, SMART-er goals with the end in mind. Now that you have your goals, you need to follow-up and provide feedback to your team. Let’s explore ways to maximize your own emotional intelligence and self-management in the moment while also being sensitive to the other person in the conversation so you can manage your conversations well, whether that’s providing praise or sharing corrective feedback. Don’t forget about appreciation! Expressing appreciation at work is critical to building healthy employee morale, but sometimes it’s easy to forget, and even easier said than done. We’ll explore the 5 Languages of Appreciation and where they fit, along with tactical tips to help you get your appreciation across!

Session 7: Enabling Change in an Organizational Context
March 29th, 2023

Change appetites vary, and changes can be hard. But they don’t have to be. Equipped with a few simple concepts, we can help enable change in their organizations.

  • Defining the terms makes it change simpler.
  • A growth mindset helps with any change.
  • A people-positive attitude helps with any stakeholder.
  • Envisioning change as a journey helps set the stage for the messages we need when going through transition, and helps others hear what they need to hear, right when they need it most.

This engaging look at the processes many people go through around change and the messages that help them move forward will help you look at change a little differently, with the end goal of improving your own ability to help others through the transition process – regardless of the magnitude of the change or the change appetite of those facing it.

Become a Changemaker now!

Join us this February to become a Changemaker in just a matter of weeks. Join us for this exclusive Inaugural Program to be the very first certified Changemakers and start enabling change in your organizations today!

What is Changemakers?

Changemakers is a new Your Clear Next Step offering designed to help organizations improve their ability to enable change within the organization, and as we’re formally launching the program in 2023, we’re starting with an accelerated Changemakers Inaugural program for individuals.

Who are Changemakers?

We’ve learned that those who are most effective at enabling change in an organizational context are consistently those who

(1)   Make authentic human connection

(2)   Put the good of the organization first, and

(3)   Treat change as a process, not an event

What does the Changemakers Program do?

Our Changemakers program helps people in organizations

(1)   develop the emotional intelligence and influence skills needed to make authentic human connection as leaders and influencers,

(2)   grow the business acumen, and project and process competencies to prioritize the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategy, and measure, produce, and prove results within and for the business, and

(3)   prepare for and efficiently navigate the journey of transition without missing the mark or leaving stakeholders behind

We’ve found that many organizations already have some pieces of this, and just need a little help bringing it all together.  Our Changemakers program helps organizations discern what they need, fill in the gaps, and create and empower changemakers within their own “four walls.”

What is the Changemakers Inaugural Program?

The Changemakers Inaugural Program (Inaugural) is part of our launch efforts, and it’s for a small group of individuals from various organizations around the country.

  • The Inaugural will run February and March 2023, and we’re looking to have about 10-12 participants in that.
  • We’ll be accelerating what will usually be a 10-month program into just over 8 weeks.
  • It will require 1 day per week of participation in virtual training (largely Tuesdays/Wednesdays/or Thursdays), but not Spring Break Week.
  • In addition to the full day trainings listed above (all virtual, all 8:30-4:30 Central, all with a 50 minutes “on”, 10 minutes “off”, 1 hr lunch break), there will also be a kickoff ahead of the week of the 6th (likely a 30-60 min call) and coaching.
  • We’re reducing the price of the program from its regular price in exchange for feedback.
  • The program includes a “Certified Your Clear Next Step Changemaker Certificate.”
Who Should Participate in the Changemakers Inaugural Program?

The ideal candidate to participate in the Inaugural Program

  • would benefit from increasing their skills in people acumen, business acumen, and change acumen
  • is likely facing change at work this year – perhaps change that they will be expected to lead or influence
  • is comfortable with an accelerated pace of learning
  • is comfortable with virtual learning
  • engages in interactive learning situations
  • is able and willing to provide candid feedback
