Session 2: Advanced Facilitation
September Cohort: October 8th, 2024
October Cohort: December 11th, 2024
Some meetings – and some meeting participants – require extra care and finesse. Busy executives with limited time on their hands, distracted individuals whose minds are elsewhere, and people caught up in organizational politics that don’t align with the other meeting participants can make things really tough! Whether we’re trying to understand the technical details of a specific issue or we’re planning for the next several months or years for our organization, our meetings need to be productive and useful. The best compliment to a meeting facilitator is to be invited back, and that doesn’t happen unless the people in the meeting agree that the meeting was effective. Gain and practice proven techniques to protect the productivity of the meeting and keep things moving forward well, even in the face of apathy, distractedness, excessive chattiness, resistance, hostility, unreasonable dominance, and other unproductive behaviors. In this full-day workshop, we’ll weave stories of disruptive behavior into techniques of how to manage them with grace. Keeping in mind the essentials of any effective meeting and supplementing those critical foundations with advanced techniques to use when the meeting is at a standstill. This class will prepare you to facilitate even the highest-stakes meetings with any of highest profile participants.

Session 3: The Art and Science of Process Improvement and Problem Solving
September Cohort: November 12th, 2024
October Cohort: January 8th, 2025
This full-day class covers the foundations of effective problem solving, using our own proven methodology. We begin with making sure that you’re solving the right problem, using best practices in root cause identification along with effective facilitation and brainstorming techniques. From there, we move to identifying the best possible solution options, knowing that not every problem has just one solution, and not every solution option is the right choice for right now. You’ll be exposed to key components of successful decision-making and an approach that helps you bring others along. And finally, our session closes with how to create the right plan of action for you, beginning with taking that critical next step.
With practical, hands-on examples, in this highly interactive workshop you’ll learn how to identify the right problem, uncover the right solution, and put the right action plan into place. Gain easy-to-apply tips that help you collaboratively solve even the most complex problems, head-on, without getting overwhelmed by the problems you’re facing and without becoming distracted by the first solution that comes along.

Session 7: Coaching As a Mindset
September Cohort: March 11th, 2025
October Cohort: May 14th, 2025
At countless moments during the day, we have the opportunity to choose a coach approach with our coworkers or employees. Coaching in the moment allows us to reinforce praise-worthy behaviors, prevent future discord, or give other the opportunity to consider their actions or circumstances in a new way. Sometimes, we shy away from coaching conversations because we’re not sure how to start or feel we don’t have the authority. Let’s explore incorporating coaching as a mindset, recognizing there are various moments for pausing to take a coach approach. We’ll practice using multiple tools and models you can incorporate into your day-to-day right away!

Session 8: Enabling Change in an Organizational Context
September Cohort: April 8th, 2025
October Cohort: June 11th, 2025
Change appetites vary, and changes can be hard. But they don’t have to be. Equipped with a few simple concepts, we can help enable change in their organizations.
- Defining the terms makes it change simpler.
- A growth mindset helps with any change.
- A people-positive attitude helps with any stakeholder.
- Envisioning change as a journey helps set the stage for the messages we need when going through transition, and helps others hear what they need to hear, right when they need it most.
This engaging look at the processes many people go through around change and the messages that help them move forward will help you look at change a little differently, with the end goal of improving your own ability to help others through the transition process – regardless of the magnitude of the change or the change appetite of those facing it.

What is Change Makers?
Who are Change Makers?
(1) Make authentic human connection
(2) Put the good of the organization first, and
(3) Treat change as a process, not an event
What does the Change Makers Program do?
(1) develop the emotional intelligence and influence skills needed to make authentic human connection as leaders and influencers,
(2) grow the business acumen, and project and process competencies to prioritize the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategy, and measure, produce, and prove results within and for the business, and
(3) prepare for and efficiently navigate the journey of transition without missing the mark or leaving stakeholders behind
We’ve found that many organizations already have some pieces of this, and just need a little help bringing it all together. Our Change Makers program helps organizations discern what they need, fill in the gaps, and create and empower Change Makers within their own “four walls.”
Why a buddy?
By having a buddy in class, you can know for sure that someone else in the room has a very similar frame of reference organizationally to what you’re experiencing.
You can be held accountable for keeping those skills sharp “back at the office” applying the skills and tools you learn in class alongside someone else who has learned them with you!
“I was in Change Makers with another leader in my workplace, and we hold each other accountable. We ask ourselves if we closed the meeting correctly, etc. It’s nice to have someone else accountable that went through it at the same time as you.” -Change Makers 2023 Participant
What if I can't make it to all of the weeks?
